Lagerstroemia indica Rhapsody in Pink® ‘Whit VIII’
This is the first release of the patented, sterile, continual-blooming Play It Again® crapemyrtle series. It is a moderate grower, reaching 2-3 feet or more in one season, with dark wine-purple new growth, small leaves, and soft-pink flowers. Mature height may be 8-10 feet. Flowers are first to appear in late June and continue until frost.
Lagerstroemia indica Double Feature® ‘Whit IX’
This is the second release of the sterile, continual-blooming Play It Again® crapemyrtle series. It is a rounded, semi-dwarf selection that has an estimated mature height of 6-8 feet. Spring growth features small, wine-red leaves. When the flower show begins, growth is over as it spends energy reblooming. Double Feature® is highly resistant to powdery mildew and Cercospora leaf spot disease. Even old basal foliage late in the season remains disease free. There is no fall color since Double Feature® is still flowering when the first severe cool down occurs.
Lagerstroemia indica Double Dynamite® PPAF
This is the third release of the sterile, continual-blooming Play It Again® crapemyrtle series. This new crapemyrtle has some big shoes to fill, but the cherry-red flowers in full sun and uninterrupted blooming for 100 or more days in Oklahoma make it worthy of its Dynamite® trademark name. It has a heavily branched growth habit and wine colored new growth, which darkens with age. Estimated height is 8-10 feet. Disease resistant.
