Royal Hawaiian® ‘Waikiki’

Royal Hawaiian® ‘Waikiki’

Industry pros and consumers alike are talking about this exciting new color breakthrough in colocasias! Lauded as a 2023 All-American Selections Ornamental Winner and a 2023 National Garden Bureau Green Thumb Award Winner, Royal Hawaiian® ‘Waikiki’ offers glossy green foliage with flamboyant white and flamingo pink veining. The color on ‘Waikiki’ develops earlier than other colocasias at just four to five leaves, and its saturated magenta petioles are strong enough to withstand tough wind and rain. Disease resistance and a compact, clumping habit – 3 feet tall and wide – makes ‘Waikiki’ ideal for patio containers and in the garden. Hardy in USDA Zones 7b-11 in shade to partial sun conditions but able to tolerate sun, ‘Waikiki’ is evergreen in areas that don’t experience hard frost. It can be brought inside in cooler climates to serve as a houseplant in the colder seasons. Available through Southern Living Plant Collection and Sunset Plant Collection.
