Lunar Lights™ ‘Sterling Moon’

Begonia Lunar Lights™ ‘Sterling Moon’ PP 33164

If you’re looking for something special to illuminate your garden spaces with color and texture, our Lunar Lights™ Series of cane begonias is guaranteed to please. The first in this new series, ‘Sterling Moon’ has puckered, forest-green leaves that are frosted with silver and mint-green flecking, leaving an unforgettable memory during a moonlit stroll on a steamy summer evening. Ozzie’s breeding goal was to have Zone 7 (at least) hardy plants with attractive, textured leaves and strikingly colored, large flowers. The salmon-pink flowers on Sterling Moon play nicely with young leaves, which are highlighted by a touch of pink. An ideal selection to mix in a somewhat shady perennial border.

Zig Zag®

Cercis canadensis Zig Zag® ‘Seirb’ PP 32895

There’s no better way to welcome spring than stumbling upon a stand of flowering redbud during a crisp morning walk. Magenta buds open to clusters of lavender-pink flowers that appear to be popping out of the bark as they wrap around bare branches before heart-shaped leaves appear. There have been several new introductions made in the past few years, but nothing quite as distinguishable as Zig Zag®. Every branch from trunk to tip has a distinct zig-zag pattern that sets this variety apart from all others. A relatively small tree, ideal for residential spaces, Zig Zag will make an outstanding specimen where its unique, architectural look can be showcased.

‘Kuching Mask’

Alocasia ‘Kuching Mask’ PP 31784

Gigantic leaves stand straight up to salute you as you walk past this tropical beauty. Enormous rippled, deep green leaves with light green stems and veins make this new selection a stunner. One might ask if this is an improved form of the beloved ‘Borneo Giant’ and we would have to say, “It is indeed improved!” After making multiple crosses with Borneo Giant and Odora, breeder Brian Williams came up with the perfect hybrid, exhibiting the best attributes of both parents: a faster rate of growth like Borneo with enormous, rippled leaves like Odora, and cold hardiness to zone 8! Start your own tropical paradise with this distinctly new hybrid. The leaves are certain to fan you as the summer breezes kick in!

Moulin Rouge

Hydrangea ‘Hokomarouge’ Moulin Rouge PPAF

Thoughts of splendor and romance are sure to ignite your senses when Moulin Rouge begins to bloom. An electrifying, red hydrangea with rounded blooms and strong, upright stems, this variety will brighten up your patio in late spring and summer. If you’re working on a garden setting, plant in groups of 5 or 7 to get the most out of its magnificent performance. With a little imagination, you might find yourself imagining a chorus line…and before you know it, singing “Yes we can can…” while enjoying your garden! Flowers on old and new wood.
