BASF announced that Paul Rea has been appointed senior vice president, Crop Protection, North America. Rea joined BASF Australia in 2001, moving to the U.S. in 2004. Rea has held a number of positions with BASF in the U.S., including director of the Professional and Specialty Solutions Division, and vice president, U.S. Crop Operations. Most recently, Rea was senior VP, Crop Protection, Asia-Pacific.
 

Philips Horticulture LED Solutions announced the appointment of Ron DeKok as business development director, North America. His more than 20 years of industry experience combined with his knowledge of horticulture and business management makes him an ideal candidate to lead the growing Philips horticulture business and team in North America. The appointment supports Philips’ growth strategy into the North American market.
 

Terra Nova Nurseries announced it has hired Nathan Lamkey as director of sales and marketing/assistant general manager and Steve Flickinger in the role of sales and marketing manager. In Lamkey’s new position, he will be focusing on sales, marketing and production. He will play a significant role in enhancing the company’s global online presence. He also will be increasing communication with company licensees as well as utilizing new sales and marketing tools that will allow Terra Nova Nurseries to create more personalized content for customers. As the company’s new sales and marketing manager, Flickinger will concentrate upon supervising and directing sales personnel, broker networking, overseeing orders, and working directly with Lamkey and the entire Terra Nova Nurseries staff.
 

Dow AgroSciences recently named Mark Neterer to the newly created role of Urban Pest Management sales leader. In his new role, Neterer will lead sales activities for the Turf & Ornamental (T&O) and Pest Management businesses. He brings more than 30 years of industry, customer and product knowledge to this role, in addition to marketing and sales leadership experience.

Dow AgroSciences also welcomes Natalie Ciambrone as marketing communications manager. Ciambrone will assist in the development of marketing and communications plans and will be responsible for implementing marketing communications tactics for the T&O business, as well as Range & Pasture, Vegetation Management and Pest Management. Colleen Derksen has accepted a sales representative position in the Eastern District. She will assist T&O customers in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. Derksen replaces Mae Council, who has accepted the newly created role of supplemental distribution regulatory specialist in the U.S. Crop Protection regulatory group, located in Indianapolis.
 

North Creek Nurseries announced the recent hire of Heather Wheatley, who joined the team as Marketing Specialist & Inside Sales Support. Wheatley will assist with key horticultural grower accounts and marketing initiatives for the both the horticultural and ecological markets. Wheatley brings 18 years of industry experience to North Creek.
