Name: Hydrangea ‘Ruby Slippers’

Description: Compact form of Hydrangea quercifolia. In early summer, ‘Ruby Slippers’ is covered with 9-inch inflorescences that are held upright above the foliage. Flowers open white, but quickly turn pale pink and then deepen to rose. Foliage is dark green in summer and mahogany-red in fall.

Hardiness: USDA Hardiness Zones 5-8.

Propagation: Softwood cuttings root in 4-6 weeks under mist with 4,000 ppm IBA.

Landscape use: Foreground planting in the shrub border, deciduous hedge or mass plantings.

Growth Habit: Compact form – grows up to 4 feet tall and 5 feet wide at maturity.
