Live to ride (and plant)
When I think about motorcycles and the people who ride them, I think of the movies. Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper cruising to New Orleans in Easy Rider, Arnold in Terminator 2, even Tom Cruise in Top Gun.
I don’t ride, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t get why people do. Motorcycles just exude cool. A big part of the draw for bikers is the feeling of cruising the countryside with the wind in your face, and connecting with the natural beauty that surrounds you. That’s why an iconic motorcycle company is working with a global environmental conservation organization to keep that feeling possible for generations of riders to come.
Harley-Davidson Motor Company is working with The Nature Conservancy to kick off Renew the Ride – a global initiative to help preserve the environment with the goal of ensuring that future generations of riders and outdoor enthusiasts alike will be able to enjoy nature’s beauty forever.
As part of this initiative, Harley-Davidson is supporting The Nature Conservancy’s work in the Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil by helping to plant 110,000 trees through the Plant a Billion Trees Campaign. That’s 1,000 trees for each of Harley’s 110 years in existence.
