Company Announcements
Plants Nouveau has launched its mobile website (www.planstnouveau.com). The site was designed for both consumers and growers, offering plenty of photos, and a page for each plant in the Plants Nouveau lineup that contains general facts and information for gardeners, as well as technical information for growers. Plants Nouveau also has a QR code on the back of every plant tag, so a consumer or grower can be taken straight to the page about that specific plant.
Rough Brothers Greenhouses bought the assets of XS Smith Inc. The XS Smith-purchased assets include all manufacturing equipment and inventory, trade names, and all greenhouse structure and systems’ products and designs. As part of the transaction, Rough Brothers intends to use the existing XS Smith production facility in North Carolina as an additional manufacturing facility. The additional space in Washington, N.C., allows Rough Brothers to expand its production capability and simultaneously reduce shipping costs for customers in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southern markets. Rough Brothers plans on retaining the current key employees at XS Smith.
SePRO Corp. announced that its Preferal biological insecticide has received California registration for use in the greenhouse, nursery and landscape markets. Preferal is a biological insecticide containing blastospores of a naturally-occurring strain of the fungus Isaria fumosoroseus which controls whitefly, aphid, thrips and spider mites.
