Jordan Street hybrid oak
Jordan Street from Heritage Trees is a tough hybrid oak with outstanding hybrid vigor, dark green foliage and almost perfect branching structure. Jordan Street has shown no sign of damage from wind or ice, and has proven to be very winter hardy. It has withstood a temperature of -28° F with a wind chill of -86° F with no damage. Jordan Street is graft compatible on Quercus bicolor understock, and it can be grafted on Q. macrocarpa understock for areas with high pH soils.

Coreopsis ‘Pineapple Pie’
Coreopsis ‘Pineapple Pie’ from Terra Nova Nurseries is a low, sprawling to mounding cultivar with limited winter cold tolerance. Continuously flowering from summer to fall, the golden yellow petals surround a dark rusty disk, attracting bees and butterflies. The base of the yellow petals turns rusty orange-red immediately around the disk. ‘Pineapple Pie’ prefers well-draining, moist soil to slightly dry soil and full sun. It is hardy to USDA Hardiness Zones 9-11.

‘Green Giant’ Chinese fairy bells
Disporum cantoniense ‘Green Giant’ from Monrovia has bamboo-like shoots that emerge in shades of pink, white and green and form narrow architectural columns of deep green foliage on sturdy stems. Fragrant, creamy-white flowers unfurl like nodding bells with new spring growth. Flowers are followed by glistening black fruit in the fall. ‘Green Giant’ grows moderately fast and grows up to 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Prefers partial to full shade and is hardy to USDA Hardiness Zones 6-9.

Rhododendron
‘Yellowstone’Rhododendron ‘Yellowstone’ from Mowbray Gardens has hardy yellow flowers (-16° F) and sports dark green foliage. It grows quickly and exhibits no negatives usually associated with hardy yellow rhododendrons. ‘Yellowstone’ is an H-1 rhododendron (plant hardy to -25° F). Buds are good to -16° F or lower.  It requires well-drained acidic soil and grows well in sun, but best in partial shade. Substance is very good for this lemon-yellow hybrid. ‘Yellowstone’ is the new standard for commercial grown, hardy, yellow rhododendrons. Plants grow well in containers. Blooms around May 15th.
