Valerie Pence, director of plant research, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife (CREW), received the Conservation Star Award by the Center for Plant Conservation for her work with imperiled plants of the United States.
SmartField, Lubbock, Texas, was awarded $250,000 by the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (TEFT) for completion and commercialization of its SmartCrop technology.
