Tractor time
In December, I traveled to Duluth, Ga., to visit AGCO Corp. and was introduced to the Massey Ferguson series of compact tractors. (That’s me on an MF1600 Series with a backhoe attachment.) The MF1600 series offers six models with a range of horsepower (35-60 HP) and lift capacity. There’s an optional hydrostatic transmission available and an independent, push-button PTO. Massey Ferguson also made things easier to operate by moving the brake pedals to the left side of the platform. There are 12 speeds, but I didn’t blow the doors off – I kept to the tortoise pace. (It was my first time driving a tractor, after all.) Check out all the specs at www.masseyferguson.com. – Kelli Rodda
