At the 2017 California Spring Trials, Dümmen Orange unveiled New Guinea impatiens with a unique flower form called Wild Romance. This double flower impatiens, which debuted in two colors, had the look of a gardenia and a vigorous habit.

Two years later at the 2019 trials, Dümmen Orange once again presented attendees with a double flower New Guinea. This one has blooms with a pronounced ruffled edge and more compact habit. Rollercoaster Hot Pink is the first in a new series set for 2020 that features curvy-edged flowers and dark green foliage. Just like Wild Romance before it, Rollercoaster was the first plant attendees saw as they walked through the displays.

Lindsay Pangborn, marketing manager for Dümmen Orange, says Rollercoaster enjoyed a successful debut in Europe and there are plans to add more colors to the shade-loving series suitable for the landscape or containers in the coming years.
