Harmony Hill Nursery, LLC (HHN) is pleased to announce it has acquired the Tulpehocken Nursery’s assets in Reading, PA. These assets will be directly absorbed into HHN effective immediately.
Tulpehocken Nursery was founded over 40 years ago by Patty Meinhart on the premise to grow quality trees and shrubs for the discerning landscape designer and contractor in the fertile fields along the Tulpehocken Nursery of Berks County, PA. Her plant palette consisted of native flowering, understory and select specimen trees, complemented with native and ornamental shrubs of landscape size. Being a formally trained landscape designer and horticulturist these plants were produced following strict production standards of quality pruning and harvesting. The last few years additional practices such as organic fertilizer, compost amendments and reduced tillage have been incorporated to become more sustainable.
Patty has been a cohort of HHN for nearly 15 years, not only procuring her plants but her knowledge and friendship. The people of HHN are honored to carry on her legacy of plant production under the HHN name as they plan on producing a similar plant palette on her land to expand their own inventory for architects, designers, contractors and distributors. HHN finds it important to produce plants in Pennsylvania not just on principle for its customers but to also be ecologically sustainable to the climate, support the demand from customers and reduce stress and the carbon footprint from plants getting shipped to its region. As more and more regional nurseries close HHN is aiming to fill that void and produce more local plants for its discerning customers.
HHN is planning to continue to supply the Tulpehocken customer base. Contact the office via 610-873-2495 or office@hhnurseryllc.com to check on price/availability, place and order or schedule a tour. All business transactions will be conducted through the HHN office at 45 Buck Rd, Downingtown, PA 19335.
