Perennial Plant Symposium set for July 21-27

The symposium will be in Vancouver this year.

VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada -- The 31st Perennial Plant Symposium is scheduled to take place July 21 through July 27 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Each year the symposium is held in a different region of North America. The PPA is divided into seven regions and the symposium is held in a region once every seven years.

The PPA Symposium includes specialty tours, a featured Wednesday professional tour, two days of professional multi-track seminars, multiple workshops, a trade show, and numerous networking opportunities. Attendees may select to attend the entire symposium or register for individual days and events.

Events at this years symposium include a walking tour of Vancouver's green roofs and living walls, and a plant hunting trip to Whistler Mountain. Check out the PPA's Facebook page for more details.

 

In prior years, the symposium and trade show attracted 500 attendees from 40 states, Canada and other countries that are keenly interested in perennials as well as other garden plants. Attendees include growers, retail garden center owners and employees, landscape architects, landscape designers, landscape contractors, educators, students and others who are professionals in the perennial industry.
 
Program and registration information is posted on the PPA website and PPA members also receive a program mailing. Symposium registration fees vary with the activity offered.
 
The trade show will be open at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Tuesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 25. On July 24 the PPA will hold professional nursery and garden tours. Exhibitors usually register for the tours to network with attendees in a casual setting.
