Skagit Horticulture, a nationwide supplier of annuals and perennials to growers and retailers across North America, recently announced that Ron Vandiver has joined the company, accepting the role of vice president of sales and marketing.
Ron has worked in the commercial horticulture industry for over 20 years, fulfilling many roles within the grower plastic industry. He began his career with Summit Plastic Company in Akron, Ohio, quickly advancing to the role of vice president of sales. After the sale of Summit Plastic in 2006, Ron initiated a start-up manufacturing and sourcing business catering to commercial growers, quality garden centers and broker/distributors. Later Ron sold the assets to East Jordan Plastics, joining that company as their national sales manager and accounts director.
In 2015, Ron joined the team at Airlite Plastics as their business development director. Utilizing his experience growing businesses and managing start-ups, Ron played a significant role in brand development. Between his many endeavors, Ron also owned his own businesses, gaining additional skills in web development, social media marketing, internet sales and trade show management.
“Ron’s track record in business growth, leadership and innovative thinking is impressive,” says Scott Crownover, president and CEO of Skagit Horticulture. “Our company is still relatively young, and we’re excited to see how Ron’s entrepreneurial passions can help propel us forward. His enthusiasm is contagious, and we are confident his fresh ideas and his commitment to the customer experience will make him the ideal leader for our sales teams in all of our divisions.”
Ron and his wife Janine’s favorite moments are spending time with their two college age daughters. They also enjoy volunteering at church, golfing, hiking and travel.
