You’re probably wondering what fishing bobbers and MasterTag have in common. In 1949 Lou Schmidt owned MasterFloat a company that produced fishing bobbers out of his hardware store in Montague, Mich. Approached by a local grower, Lou—an inspired and innovative man—created the first plastic horticultural tag. Now three generations later, under the leadership of Lou’s grandson, Rick Hughes, MasterTag continues Lou’s original innovative thinking and inspired look at the marketplace. From photos and graphics to innovative merchandising and now to QR Codes, MasterTag has never stopped changing, never stopped moving and continues to be true to its heritage and culture of creative thought and commitment to useful labeling in the horticulture industry. At this year’s OFA Short Course come to booth #1821 and learn more about MasterTag and our innovative products.
